On this week’s Modern Notebook, Tyler Kline will be joined by Juhi Bansal and Julia Mermelstein, the two winning composers of the USF New-Music Consortium’s International Call for Scores. They’ll discuss their work and give a preview of the music that will be featured on the New-Music Consortium’s upcoming virtual concert.


Plus: music by Adam Holmes performed by Desdemona and a newly released recording from euphonium soloist Demondrae Thurman with music by Anthony Barfield.


Featuring works by Christian Quiñones, Emma O’Halloran, Huang Ruo, Toshi Ichiyanagi, Sarah Kirkland Snider, and others; and performances by the PRISM Quartet, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Latitude 49, Unheard-of//Ensemble, and more.
