On this week’s Modern Notebook, Tyler Kline shares a couple of new releases on the show, including a work by Anthony R. Green titled “The Green Double: a historical dance suite,” which is a musical expression of the composer’s love of history; and, a new recording of Thurídur Jónsdóttir’s flute concerto titled “Flutter,” which integrates insect sounds with the soloist and orchestra.
Plus: performances by the Lysander Piano Trio, Kronos Quartet, flutist Mario Caroli with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, pianist Karen Walwyn, Khemia Ensemble, Aizuri Quartet, and more; and music by Reinaldo Moya, Michael Gordon, Tania León, Kaito Nakahori, and others.
That’s on the next Modern Notebook, Sunday night from 8 to 10 EST on Classical WSMR 89.1 and 103.9. Streaming at wsmr.org and on the WUSF Public Media mobile app.
