Daylight Savings Time ends this Sunday, and on Modern Notebook we will feature music about changing seasons and changing time:


  • A movement from Juri Seo‘s string quartet, Infinite Season.
  • David Ludwig‘s work for two violins and chamber orchestra, Seasons Lost.
  • Caitlin Sullivan performs solo cello music by Sarah Kirkland Snider.
  • Toru Takemitsu’s November Steps, which highlights traditional Japanese instruments, the shakuhachi and biwa, alongside a Western orchestra.


Plus, Tyler will preview a pair of events happening in Tampa featuring guest composer Anthony R. Green.

On the final episode of Modern Notebook with Tyler Kline: Hideaki Aomori’s Split stretches the bass clarinet to its limits, exploring the full breadth of its sound world. This hour also features Baljinder Sekhon’s Drifting Seeds for cello and harp, along with music by Anna Mieke, Vivian Fung, and more.
