On Modern Notebook this week, Tyler Kline shares music by Douglas J. Cuomo for electric guitar and string quartet from a piece titled “Seven Limbs.” Plus, music for wind quintet by Jeff Scott called “Homage to Paradise Valley,” which is a suite composed to honor the history of Detroit’s historic neighborhoods: Black Bottom and Paradise Valley.


Featuring works by Bosba Panh, Danielle Eva Schwob, Darian Donovan Thomas, Sophia Bass, and others; and performances by guitarist Jamie Monck, guitarist Nels Cline with Aizuri Quartet, pianist Robert Fleitz, cellist Inbal Segev with tanpura soloist Mari Tanaka and tabla soloist Vivek Pandya, Akropolis Reed Quintet, and more.
