On the next Modern Notebook, Tyler Kline shares a work by Alejandro Vera titled “Ometeotl,” which is inspired by the Aztec god of creation and utilizes pre-Hispanic rhythms and imitations of ancient instruments.

And music by Bosba Panh performed by guitarist Jamie Monck from their latest album “the sun also rises.”

Plus: works by Baljinder Sekhon, Jessie Montgomery, Maya Verlaak, Hannah Kendall, and others; and performances by Borderlands Ensemble, cellist Scott Kluksdahl, Apartment House, PUBLIQuartet, and more.
