On this week’s Modern Notebook, Tyler Kline shares music by Nathalie Joachim for cello and recorded tape that is inspired by her upbringing as a Haitian-American, and the cultural image of women in Haiti. Also, music by St. Petersburg-native Scott Lee from his latest release, and a bass clarinet concerto performed by USF Faculty member Calvin Falwell, and the USF Symphony Orchestra.
Featuring performances by Michi Wiancko, Lysander Piano Trio, flutist Meerenai Shim with pianist Jacob Abela, JACK Quartet, Khemia Ensemble, cellist Amanda Gookin, and more; and music by Mark Dancigers, Gilad Cohen, Emma O’Halloran, Bret Bohman, Gabriela Lena Frank, and others.
